Dear Jeff,

I appreciate the time you have devoted to raising the awareness and possible implications of H.B. 1630. As one who was present for all the debate and discussion on this issue, it is sobering to realize that so few people could have such a large impact on an issue they know so little about. It is our duty to warn others of the possible pitfalls and problems with this legislation. Other states need not follow in our footsteps.

As we discussed earlier, I will make a diligent effort to address this legislation with some more appropriate language. The perceived purpose of this legislation was actually a good one. To prevent others from willfully and maliciously posing as another with the intent to defraud should not be allowed. As we both know, the House Council that drafted this legislation was "netless" and the finished product illustrates this basic lack of understanding. It reminds me of the song that says, "don't try to describe the ocean if you've never seen it."

Again, thanks for your part in educating the public to the legislative process and it's possible consequences. Please call if I might be of further assistance to you. (770) 425-3999.

Sincerely,

George H. Grindley Jr.
State Rep. District 35
